Anna Oehmichen

Anna Oehmichen is the founding partner at Oehmichen International, a law firm based in Berlin, Germany. Anna has been practicing law for over a decade, focusing on extradition law, INTERPOL matters, and mutual legal assistance treaties (MLATs). She frequently advises and represents clients facing international extradition requests and challenges related to INTERPOL Red Notices, particularly in cases involving German, European, and international law. Anna earned her Ph.D. in comparative criminal law and human rights from Leiden University, where her research advanced the understanding of legal protections in cross-border criminal matters. She completed her first state exam at the University of Trier, Germany, with additional studies at Universidad de Alcalá in Spain, and her second state exam in the State of Hesse, Germany. Anna is a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies in Europe (CCBE), as well as of the Criminal Law Committee and the European Law Committee of the German Bar Association (DAV). She is also a member of the European Criminal Bar Association working group on the European Public Prosecutor's Office and the Fair Trials International Legal Experts Advisory Panel (LEAP). She has also served as a lecturer at the University of Giessen. Anna's articles on extradition law and INTERPOL related issues have been published in authoritative law reviews, including New Journal of European Criminal Law. Anna regularly participates in panels dedicated to international extradition and INTERPOL abuse.
